Vertigo & Dizziness Relief : How Vestibular Therapy Can Help
What Is Vestibular Therapy?
Vestibular therapy is essentially specialized therapy for the vestibular system. Problems with the vestibular system present as dizziness, feeling “off”, or light-headed.
Common conditions that may benefit from vestibular therapy include: vertigo, BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), Meniere’s disease, labryrinthitis, tinnitus, & light-headedness.

What To Expect At My Appointment
Initial assessment of the vestibular system will take approximately 1 hour and will include a thorough history taking and assessment of your mobility, balance, and eye movements in different positions. Treatment will then depend on the findings and may include particle positioning techniques, education, & balance exercises.
Common Questions
It is not uncommon to feel a bit off for the rest of the day; but some clients may not have any symptoms following assessments.
If you are attending for dizziness, then, it is a good idea to bring someone with you. You may feel a bit “off” after your assessment and it is good to have someone to drive you home.
This depends on the cause. With BPPV (most common inner ear cause of dizziness), typically within 3 treatments symptoms are resolved. If symptoms are arising from a neurological condition (stroke, concussion), then follow ups typically occur over a period of months.Â
